Certifications and Programs
Paths to Quality is a quality rating system in the state of Indiana open to licensed centers, licensed family daycare homes, and unlicensed registered ministries. The scale ranges from 1 to 4, with 4 being the highest level attainable.
Community Preschool and Childcare is ranked as a Level 4 Provider according to the standards and guidelines of Paths to Quality. Being ranked as a Level 4 Provider means that the health & safety needs of children are met, the environment supports children’s learning, planned curriculum guides child development and readiness, and the highest indicator of quality is achieved.
You have chosen a program for your child that is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). For over 30 years, families have relied on NAEYC Accreditation to ensure that high quality education and care are provided in programs for young children.
This center uses the Creative Curriculum to develop lesson plans that promote children's growth in all areas: social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and language. The Creative Curriculums Developmental Continuum Assessment System provides tools to assess each child’s development in the context of everyday routines and experiences. The information from the assessments are used to promote each child’s development and growth.
On My Way Pre-K awards grants to 4-year-olds from low-income families so that they may have access to a high-quality Pre-K program the year before they begin kindergarten. Families who receive a grant may use the grant at any approved On My Way Pre-K program.
The preschool center and church daycare administers a Child Care Development Fund grant from the Bureau of Child Care that assists low-income families with child care fees. To be eligible for the program, parents must be working or in school and have income within the program’s guidelines. Other child care subsidies such as the CCDF voucher program are also accepted by the center.
The Child & Adult Care Food Program plays a vital role in providing nutritious meals and snacks to children. Community Preschool and Childcare participates in the Child & Adult Care Food Program and follows guidelines established by USDA in order to meet the nutritional needs of the children. Read more.
Community Preschool and Childcare is a registered ministry of Woodmar United Methodist Church recognized by the state of Indiana. The church daycare is registered to care for children ages 3–5 years.
The Foundations were developed by the Indiana Department of Education and Bureau of Child Care. These foundations build upon one another and are aligned with the Indiana Academic Standards for kindergarten in a developmentally appropriate way. By incorporating these foundations into the center’s lesson plans, each child has the opportunity to develop the skills needed to enter kindergarten and be successful. Our staff is trained to incorporate these foundations into the weekly lesson plans.
